Stampin MP Datuk Yong Khoon Seng hoped that the people of RPR Batu Kawa would re-elect Tan Joo Phoi as Batu Kawah assemblyman. He also wants them to support Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Youth chief, Sih Hua Tong, who will contest the Batu Lintang seat in the next election.“RPR Batu Kawa has given me full support all these years. I hope you will show the same support for Tan and Sih,” he said when speaking at ‘1Malaysia with Leaders Programme’ held at Dewan Perpaduan yesterday.The objective of the programme was to allow leaders to visit and mingle with residents of the area.
Yong, who is Deputy Works Minister, also announced that he would look into improving RPR Batu Kawa’s Dewan Perpaduan.He said the building materials were outdated and conducts heat into the hall, while the lack of insulation causes sound to echo inside.He later handed out aid to 22 needy individuals residing in the area.Also present were RPR Batu Kawa Neighbourhood Committee chairman Ismail Ibrahim, Sarawak National Unity and Integration Department deputy director Delin Blaun, and Special Affairs Department (Jasa) Kuching officer Sapuan Baki.
